Emery Jai has never been a great sleeper. I can count on one hand the number of times she has slept all night! Emery Jai has almost always slept with us. When she was 7 months old she slept in her crib for around 3 weeks with no problem. Then one day for no apparent reason she screamed every time we laid her down, so she ended up back in our bed. Recently her night time behavior is worse than normal. She is waking up all of the time. Emery Jai ask to be held, rocked, sung to, and a number of other ridicules request. She tosses and turns all night, kicking who ever is unlucky enough to be sleeping by her. Emery Jai is waking up exhausted, I can really tell she is not getting the sleep she needs. So we have made the decision to transition her to her own bed. I have mixed feeling about it but no one is getting rest It is time. As much as I know we need to do this I am a little sad. We coverted her baby bed in to a toddler bed and moved it into our room. There are now 3 beds in our room and only one is being used! We tried putting her in it a couple of nights ago, we were less than successful in the attempt! She was back in our bed within hours. I have decided to start out very very slow. I have placed a pillow between she and I. I know it doesn't sound like a huge step but it is making Emery Jai so so mad. She can not stand it. Also I am not indulging her in night time demands, other than water of course. It is going to be a long slow process, maybe by the time she is in middle school she will sleep in her own bed in her own room! I am going to miss my little bedbug!
I took a picture of her sleeping in her bed for the very first time!
