Okay I'm a little behind on my pregnancy blogging. I am going to combine the two weeks into one short and sweet post. I am still feeling well, the heat has not been a huge factor, mostly because I stay inside :). I had my glucose test and everything is good. I am measuring 2 weeks big, no surprise!. The baby's heart rate was 140 bpm. And of course the one thing I am great at while preggers is gaining weight, which I did. I am still well with in normal range which is good. I am not as concerned with my weight this time, with emery jai it basically fell off so I hope it will again! And considering I will not have 100 plus pounds to loose maybe it will go a little faster. I have to give the credit to 10 months of breastfeeding, it worked amazingly well.
I went to a random OB in Little Rock because I did not/could not make the trip to Nashville. He was so nice and was hysterical. When he found out I was seeing a midwife he made a comment about being granola, I laughed so hard! He said he could "go natural" turns out he could not, everything I wanted he was categorically against. We did agree on one detail, no forceps or vacuum extractions. Oh well, I guess its a good thing he is not going to deliver the baby!
Still not 100% sure about the name. We will keep you posted!
Here is how our little (big) man is doing!
Fetal development in pregnancy week 30:
fetus in seventh month The light is visible at the end of the tunnel! Your oversized self and amazing growing baby have finally reached the single digits (in terms of weeks till birth)! The fine lanugo hair that has been growing all over their little monkey-like body is going to start falling off this week in preparation for the big day. But don’t be shocked if they’re hairier than you’d anticipated, some babies keep their lanugo until after birth. Still, it’s not any cause to be concerned as it will fall off eventually. No surprises here: your little porker is getting even cuter with increasingly pudgy arms and legs this week thanks to the ever-growing layers of subcutaneous fat. In terms of numbers, they’ll be weighing in at around 3 pounds 12 ounces (or more!) and are nearly 16 inches long.
Fetal development in pregnancy week 31:
fetus in seventh month Your not-so-little-one is just a bit closer to their birth weight and height now—at around 4 lbs and 17 inches in length. With each added layer of baby fat their skin starts to look more and more like it will when they finally get to see the light of day. The heavy news: you can expect little miracle-gro to gain about a half a pound of weight gained per week from now until about two weeks before birth. Great. That's just what you needed. Even more weight to carry around!

Emery Jai Goes To The Zoo!!
Emery Jai had her first zoo trip today! She loved it! Two of her favorite people were there Aunt Erica and Kennedy, so she had a blast. Mrs. Paige had a red wagon that E.J. loved riding in with Kennedy(I've got to get one for her). She loved seeing all of the animals but I think the best part for her was the wagon and the snacks. We rode the train but Emery Jai wasn't old enough to ride the camel, she really wanted to. We had a great time.
Riding in the wagon!

Not as much fun as the wagon!

16 Months!
Emery Jai is 16 months today! She is doing very very well. Into everything, but could not be any cuter! Here are some of my favorite pics from the first couple of months, I know I say this all of the time but it goes by so fast.
Notice she has earrings, they did not last very long.

Family Update!
Well, first and foremost we are all very healthy and happy (for the most part) and for that we are thankful. Josh is loving his job. It is working out very well. His schedule is very good for the family, he has a lot of closing shifts. Close shifts work well for us. I am doing fine, the pregnancy is going good. I am getting a little spoiled having all of my meals cooked and also not doing any major cleaning, Nena takes care of all of that. But at the same time I am ready to move. I had a good mothers day, I received a ton of cards. I haven't gotten my gift from Josh, I think its going to be very very big :). Emery Jai is 28 lbs and 33 inches tall. I can't believe she will be 16 months this week. The more she talks the less she uses sign language, honestly I am a little sad to see the signs go. E.J. is into everything! I am exhausted by 9:30 a.m.! It cracks me up to hear people talking wild their boys are, I just think if my son is wilder than E.J. I am in serious trouble. Emery Jai's latest nickname is thing one (cat in the hat), she's nonstop.
So all in all we are good, just ready to be reunited. It has been so hard and stressful.

29 Weeks, 3Days!
Everything is going great. The baby is growing big, Emery Jai feeds him via my belly button. The heat is not bothering me, yet. I am starting to have some back pain, but that is to be expected. Along with the constant trips to the bathroom. I have to work so hard at drinking water, I hate water. My goal is to drink 8 glasses a day, my midwife wants me to drink 10-12! I had to reschedule my midwife appointment for the 29th, we hope to both be living in Nashville by then.
Also I think we might be renaming the little man, we're not sure. It could still be Finnley, but probably not. I will keep you posted!
Fetal development in pregnancy week 29:fetus in seventh month If you’ve been feeling butterflies moving around in your belly, it’s not just your run-of-the-mill pre-birth performance anxiety. No, it’s your amazing baby with a case of the hiccups: a fairly common occurrence at this point resulting from practicing breathing for their big birthday. In addition, to getting a round of butterfly-like hiccups, your little swimmer has arduously managed to accumulate enough baby fat to account for nearly 3.5% of their overall body weight. Yeah, compared to we adults, it’s not a lot, but when they’re little like that—it’s certainly a healthy (and warming) accomplishment in its way. Another fantastic accomplishment: your baby's spleen is now in charge of hematopoiesis—the 10 dollar name for the process involved in building up certain important blood components. Another fantastic-accomplishment: your little monkey has been peeing into their amniotic sac for a little while now (this is why potty training takes a while) and if you didn’t know, actually swallows it along with the rest of the amniotic fluid. Although the concept is nasty, their urine is sterile and as part of the amniotic fluid base, is replaced several times throughout the day. So if you didn’t know before, now you can tell people, that yes, you drank your own urine—you were still in the womb, but nonetheless you’ve been there.

Smile for your close-up!

Tumble Bumble
Our little monkey took a huge spill today. Emery Jai fell down the stairs! It scared me to death. Emery Jai was chasing Kit Kat, I was cleaning the kitchen. Kit Kat ran up the stairs and Emery Jai followed. When I heard her falling, the sound made me sick to my stomach. I still can not think about it. Tears immediately came to my eyes, I stopped and said a quick prayer before I ran in to the living room. The fall must have knocked her breath out, she wasn't crying. I picked her up and shook her she started screaming like a mad woman. I took her to see Debbie (her nurse practitioner), she sent her for an x-ray of her head and neck. E.J. fought the techs like a wild tiger, they could not believe how strong she is for a baby. Nena had to go in with her, I could not because I am pregnant. When they came out Emery Jai grabbed her bag and started saying bye bye between the sobs, she was ready to leave. Everything checked out great, thankfully. I am truly in a state of gratefulness, it could have been so much worse than a few bumps and scrapes. Nena and I went today and bought a gate (a little late), Emery Jai is running around like nothing happened. She has already tried to climb up the stairs.
I think I am officially out of the running for Mom of the year, two calls to poison control and a huge fall requiring imaging services :)!

New Gown
Last week Nena bought Emery Jai a new gown, E.J. loves it. She wants to wear the gown every night. She puts it on then walks around to everyone so we can ooh and awe over it. Emery Jai loves clothes and shopping. She pulls out clothes from the rack and says ooh! She has done her share of shopping. Emery Jai also loves credit/check cards, she goes nuts when she sees one. So, imagine a cute 15 month old oohing over clothes then when it is time to check out screaming CREDIT CARD CREDIT CARD over and over until she gets to hold it, it is sort of embarrassing for me. I want to say it's a check card, I don't have a problem with over spending, she just loves cards! Nena gave her an old card, E.J. puts it in her play purse and carries it around.

28 Weeks 5 Days!
All is well, not much to report! I am feeling great!
Here is what is going on this week with Mommy and Finn.
You know how you’ve been feeling a bit like a barn with legs some days? Well, that feeling won’t subside before… well, you know, when you finally give birth. For the time being, you’ve got yourself a baby in the business of collecting fat and lots of it! In spite of the dubious joys of being a barn, this baby fat business is very serious and you’ve got to put up with it, because it’s going to keep your little porker warm and healthy after birth. Other good stuff from inside: their eyes are doing lots of blinking this week because they’re now able to respond to light and dark. Also, their industrious little bone marrow is now a major construction site for developing red blood cells, while their super-cute adrenal glands are actually producing androgen and estrogen—which will stimulate your hormones to begin milk production. Can you say, “Moo?”

Kit Kat
I think I have mentioned how much Emery Jai loves loves loves Kit Kat. Kit Kat is Emery Jai's number one concerned from the time she wakes up to the time she goes to bed. Emery Jai ask/talks about her constantly. We will be in Target and Emery Jai will start calling Kit Kat, as if shes going to come from around the corner. If we are at home Emery Jai needs to know of Kit Kats where abouts every second. In saying all of that I need to mention that Kit Kat is seriously antisocial. She only likes Pop, thats it. Kit Kat will not go to anyone else. So Kit Kat is less than thrilled with the attention that Emery shows her.
The funniest thing is that Emery Jai doesn't get that shes a cat, Emery wants her to play games with her. A couple of months ago Emery started trying to get Kit Kat to play peek a boo. Emery gets frustrated when Kit Kat does not play right. Emery Jai chased Kit Kat around trying to take her temperature, that was hilarious. So her are some pics of Emery Jai trying to read to and play ball with the cat! Its so funny, for everyone but Kit Kat.

27 Weeks 6 Days!
Time is flying by, less than 10 weeks until Finn is full term! Everything is going well. I am having some crazy cravings sausage, mamwich, olives (the big green ones), cheese, and onions! It is so very gross, but I can not help myself! I am STARVING almost all of the time, I am trying to resist the urge to eat a meal every 2-3 hours! Finn is moving a ton, it is time to start playing "what is that bump". He is kicking very hard. I don't think he is head down yet, Emery Jai did not turn until she was 34-36 weeks. Honestly after the birth/labor of Emery Jai a c-section does not sound as terrible as it use to.
We can not wait to meet Finnley!
Fetal development in pregnancy week 27:fetus in seventh month Your not-so-tiny-anymore swimmer (2 pounds and about 14.5 inches long!) is slowly rotating in preparation to “head out.” Obviously, this doesn’t happen overnight, but when you start to feel an unfamiliar pressure on your cervix, you’ll know you’ve got a fully flipped baby locked and loaded for the countdown to their birthday! Even now, at the beginning of the third trimester, their little lungs are already capable of breathing air, while the pulmonary vascular system can provide sufficient gas exchange, and the central nervous system can generally regulate rhythmic breathing as well as their basal body temperature. For what it’s worth, at this point in a healthy pregnancy a premature child (with intensive care) could easily win on the show: “Survivor: The Early Years.”

26 Weeks!
Finn's Development
Although your baby's eyes have been sealed shut for the last few months, they will soon open and begin to blink. Depending on ethnicity, some babies will be born with blue or gray-blue eyes (which may change color in the first year of life) and some will be born with brown or dark eyes. Eyelashes are growing in, as is more hair on the head.
Your baby, weighing a little less than 2 pounds (907 grams), still looks wrinkly but will continue to gain weight steadily over the next 14 weeks until birth.
Everything is going wonderfully! I am still feeling amazingly well. We are just very excited to get Finn here!
I have been pregnant for 166 Days and I have 96 to go!
